In Concert Fleur Doll

catalogue # 385 - 1098, year 1982

body: ballerina (bending elbows and ankles)

hair: blonde, red, brunette, side part

shoes: white kitten heels with small flower

There were only 2 Fleurs with side-part hair, and this is one of them (the other is Famous Fashion Fleur, sold about 2-3 years later). To tell the difference between them, check the head - In Concert head is slightly smaller.

This beautiful doll is dressed for a standing ovation in a pink satin one-shoulder gown, with a satin underskirt and four tiers of lace layered on top. An elegant pearl necklace completes her look. Her hair is beautifully arranged in a half-up-half-down style, and tied with a white ribbon bow.

Also in the box - a Fleur Song book, showing the song she plays on her piano (sold separately). Fun fact: the piano has a music box mechanism and plays this song (very badly) when wound up.

Worth to note: the doll box looks blue in my picture, but it's just faded from age - it should be the usual dark green. Also, note how the doll body in the promo photo (top left) is different from the doll body in the box (My Fair Lady Fleur has the same problem, maybe because both dolls are from the same production period).

Jazzballet / Jazz Ballerina

Fleur Doll

catalogue # 385 - 1014

dark green box - Jazzballet - year 1985

light green box - Jazz Ballerina - year 1986

body: ballerina (bending elbows and ankles)

hair: blonde, red, brunette, center part, side ponytail tied with gold string

shoes: white ballet (pointe) shoes

In the entire Fleur doll line, there were just three (as far as I know) dolls sold in dark / light boxes. They are Bride's Happiness, Jogging, and this one - Jazzballet. It's probably because they were bestsellers, and we know ballerinas are always top faves with children.

There is no difference between the dolls - only the name on the box changed from Jazzballet to Jazz Ballerina.

The outfit is in 3 parts - a pink leotard, tights and lighter-pink skirt, plus white ballet (pointe) shoes, white-and-pink knitted legwarmers, and a white terrycloth towel.

I think she is the most beautiful of all Fleur dolls (who agrees with me?).

Jeans Fleur Doll

catalogue # 385 - 1012, year 1984

body: non-ballerina (no bending elbows or ankles), legs move to front and back (not side)

hair: blonde, red, brunette, bangs (fringe), curled ponytail

shoes: white sandals

This doll is one of the easiest to identify - she is the only Fleur with a curled ponytail and bangs (fringe).

Her name isn't written on the box, but her box says 'You'll love her in jeans', instead of the usual 'You'll love her'. So, that's how she is known as Jeans Fleur.

Her top is easy to find and identify, but her jeans not so much, so I included a closer photo of them. Both the jeans and the top close at the back with a metal snap. On her feet, she wears the classic white Fleur sandals. In the promo photo, she has completely different shoes, and I have never seen them in real life. She's got her dog friend too, on a black leash.

Jogging Fleur Doll

dark box - catalogue # 385 - 1013, year 1985

light box - no catalogue # - year 1987

body: non-ballerina (no bending elbows or ankles), legs move to front and back (not side)

hair: blonde, red, brunette, centre part

shoes: white running shoes

Jogging Fleur doll must have been popular, because she was sold twice, in two different boxes (as you see in the pics). Interestingly, the dolls are a little different. The doll in the dark green box (1985) wears socks with shoes, and her hair is styled in a side ponytail. The doll in the light green box (1987) has no socks, and her hair is styled in the classic Fleur flip at the back of her neck.

The official promo photo shows Fleur with a dog, but there is no dog in the box. Also, in the promo she has red running shoes - but my boxed dolls have white running shoes.

Fleur's shirt could have any number between 1 and 9.
