This gorgeous Basketwork Armchair may look familiar, because its promo photo appeared very often on Fleur furniture boxes throughout the 1980s. Usually, the model is Sunny Day Fleur doll, as seen on the back of the Fleur book 'Een meisje als jij'. The chair debuted in 1982, when rattan furniture was actually trendy in real homes. It's a very well-made piece, strong and in correct scale. If you see similar chair, look for the black decorative stripe weaved into the frame - then you know it is a real Fleur item.
Also in 1982, Fleur got her second rattan set - the Basketwork Suite. It's a beautifully made set with great workmanship - the pieces are very well put together (I imagine some glue was involved too), and last well when played with. The largest piece is made to the correct 1:6 scale, but just large enough to squeeze two Fleurs onto it. I'm sure they'd prefer to sit in one of the armchairs. The little table can also be used as a stool.
