Fleur Dolls - K L
Kitties Fleur Doll
catalogue # 385 - 1025, year 1981
body: ballerina (bending elbows and ankles)
hair: blonde, red, brunette, center part
shoes: dark blue or red kitten heels with small flower
These Kitties Fleurs from the early 1980s were sold in unusual boxes - styled to look like a room, with the dolls sitting inside, not standing. The only other sitting Fleur was Famous Fashion. Each Kitties Fleur doll wears a red or a blue dress (with one snap button in front), with a white belt and long white sleeveless vest on top. In the promo photo, Fleur wears white kitten heels, but my boxed dolls wear red or blue shoes to match their dresses. Kitties Fleur has two promo photos - both shown in top row. Each doll has two cats - read more about them on the animals page.

KLM Fleur Doll
catalogue # 385 - 1010, year 1979
body: 1970s body with long legs, tiny waist and small hands
hair: blonde, strawberry blonde, brunette, centre part
shoes: black block-heel shoes with bow
The KLM Fleur may look familiar to you - because there was also KLM Sindy, in an identical uniform. Maybe they were part of the same cabin crew? Thanks to these two dolls, it's still easy to buy this outfit today in great condition. It will probably be missing the little silver wings on the jacket and the hat - that's because they are just poor quality stickers. As the jacket and skirt are easy to recognise, I included a photo of the undershirt, scarf, shoes and bag (see bottom left). Inside the jacket, shirt and skirt there is a paper 'Made in Hong Kong' label.
Fun fact 1: the blue KLM Fleur hat is made of two parts - the soft fabric on top, and a plastic bowl underneath. If this plastic bowl is missing, the hat looks like a beret (see photo top left).
Fun fact 2: this Fleur comes in two different boxes, both shown below. Please note, the first box is not blue - it was originally green, but it's now badly faded from old age. The backs of the boxes show different promo photos.
Fun fact 3: this Fleur has no official promo photo. On her box, where a promo would normally be, there is a KLM plane. If anyone has seen a promo photo for this Fleur, please let me know!

Lente (Spring) Fleur Doll
catalogue # 385 - 1030, year 1979
body: 1970s body with long legs, tiny waist and small hands
hair: blonde, strawberry blonde, brunette, centre part
shoes: brown block-heel shoes with bow
Lente (Spring) Fleur is one of the earliest Fleur dolls - sold in 1979 - yet her outfit is still easy to find in great condition. I think it means she was made in large quantities. She wears a beautiful floor-length dress of flower-pattern bodice with a stand-up lace collar and ruffle on the front, and long white sleeves edged with the same lace at the wrists. The flowing four-tier skirt (of the same fabric as the sleeves) is decorated with a three-colour insert at the top of the fourth tier - one stripe of wavy blue ribbon, one stripe of flowery bodice fabric, and one stripe of wavy yellow ribbon. On her head, Fleur wears a wide hat made of the same white fabric as the dress, and trimmed with the same lace as the sleeves. A long yellow ribbon wraps around the base of the hat.
For NRFB collectors - Lente Fleur comes with a small cluster of plastic flowers. The stem has a small loop, which fits on Fleur thumb. The flowers are tied to Fleur's wrist with the same long yellow ribbon as her hat. This is unusual, because all later dolls had their accessories tied to their hands with rubber bands, which were awful - they stained, melted or crumbled with age. The ribbon is a much cleaner and elegant option. Also, her dress in NRFB state has a 'MADE IN HONG KONG' paper label attached to the bottom of the skirt back seam. This label is paper, so of course it will disappear in first laundry.
Fun fact: Lente Fleur's box is the same as Belle Fleur's box (it even shows Belle Fleur promo photo on the flap), only the doll name printed on the box is different.
In the catalogue photo from 1979 (top left), Lente Fleur is posing with her world-travelling friend KLM Fleur (you can read all about her above).

Logo Shirt Fleur Doll
catalogue # 385 - 1000, 1001, year 1982
body: regular upper body with non-bending elbows, ballerina lower body with bending ankles
hair: blonde, red, brunette, curly ponytail
shoes: blue, red, green sandals
Logo Shirt Fleur - like her friend Striped Dress Fleur - is a Fleur doll with no official name. She is usually called a 'special offer' Fleur - this is because of her low original price, as shown in the ads from 1982/83 in top and bottom row. But because her box doesn't have a 'special offer' label (like these dolls do), she is here in the L list.
The front of her box is decorated with a red flower and yellow label NEW! Bendable Ankles. Indeed, her ankles do bend. This Fleur doll has a strange hybrid body - the top is of a regular Fleur with straight rubber arms, but the bottom is of a ballerina doll, with bending ankles and an elastic string inside. This strange and unique body, in combination with her smaller head and curly ponytail, makes her easy to identify.
Logo Shirt Fleur wears a simple but very cute outfit - a long-sleeve body in green, blue or pink with a Fleur logo printed on the front, plus a floral knee-length skirt. On her feet - sandals to match the colour of her outfit. Her top and skirt both close at the back with a metal snap.
